As you will all know by now, assuming that you have been reading these posts, that as part of the release of ‘A Poetic Proposal’ I am going to be featuring a poem from the book, dedicated to Ionia, each day this week as a taster of the poetry you can experience inside.
This is one that first appeared on the blog back in June. I have amended it slightly as I preferred the sound of new line. See if you notice it.
Half a Lifetime
Half a lifetime
Spent alone
Not even knowing
I wasn’t alive
It only took a minute
To know this was right
And all of a sudden
I saw the light
Being with,
The one that you love
This is a gift,
From heaven above
Sometimes we cannot,
be together
When all we want,
is together forever
That day will come
I know in my heart,
We shall be together,
Never apart
I cannot express
in words alone
The depth of my love
And desire for you
I just want to spend,
The rest of my life
Right by your side,
With you as my wife.
The book is available here and comes in both digital and paperback format. Stocking fillers! Don’t forget.
I remember when Ionia admitted she was smitten with someone. I’m glad it was you.

Thank you so very much. It is always wonderful to hear that somebody has enjoyed my poetry. There will be a couple more excerpts this week too.
