Tahoe Queen

tahoe

Tahoe Queen

In the footsteps of Clemens
A path now well trod
Astride a mountain
Before a lake so pure

A Tahoe Queen
In Zephyr Cove
A paddle steamer
Thoughts of Twain

Distant Mountains
On the opposite shore
Snow peaked caps
A beauty so raw

Gentle waves
Lash the shore
A crescent cove
A sandy beach

Dogs playing chicken
With incoming waves
Crazy cold water
Crazy fool dogs

Firs and pines
About the beach
The sound of waves
One’s ears do reach

Shining water
Clear as crystal
A translucent blue
And trees of green

Summer sun
Winter snow
At 7000ft
Nestled between the peaks
