Tomorrow

So it was my turn to do the weekly prompt for the Community Storyboard this week. Check it out here. Have a go and see what you come up with.

Here was my humble effort.

Tomorrow

They say tomorrow never comes
It never mattered before
Yesterday, today, tomorrow
Were all a bit of a bore

A time when tomorrow didn’t exist
Before my world was light
When every day merged into one
Nothing ever seemed right

And then it happened, out of the blue
You appeared in my life
Our love it grew, so very strong
With every new discovery

Then, looking towards tomorrow
At what our future holds
Knowing, deep in my heart
That you are all I want

Tomorrow has been a long time coming,
But now it is finally here,
We have wished and wished,
For so very long, and now tomorrow’s here

Some say tomorrow never comes,
But for once they are all wrong
Because so soon, so very soon,
Tomorrow comes along

Now I dream of all those tomorrows
Knowing they will become todays
So now I know they were all wrong
As tomorrow always comes.

The promise of tomorrow
Becomes the reality of today
Soon we’ll be together
and that’s the way we’ll stay

Today is almost yesterday
As tomorrow becomes today
Rather than wait for tomorrow
Let’s turn it into today

Frost

So here is a little something for this weeks prompt ‘Frost’, on the Community Storyboard. Why not head over there and have a go yourself.

In the summer,
When the sun shone.
We both knew, that
Our hearts had been won.

In the autumn
When the frost came.
We already knew,
We both felt the same.

In the winter,
When the snows fell.
A moment apart,
Was like living in hell.

In the spring,
Along comes new life.
By then you will be,
My trouble and strife.

Yesterday

A little something for this weeks prompt – ‘Yesterday‘ – from the Community Storyboard. Have a go yourself. This is about what was, what is and what will be. As with any poetry, or indeed anything I write, it is dedicated to the woman I love, Ionia.

Yesterday

Yesterday we were far apart,
Separated by the ocean blue.
Distance and time a blight,
On what we wanted to do

Today we are almost together,
Not too long to go now,
But again to be divided,
By the powers that be

Tomorrow we shall be together
For all eternity,
Sharing each day, of this life,
Forever, eter-na-lly

Angst and Longing Prompt – CSB

A poem for the Angst and Longing prompt posted by Ionia Martin on the Community Storyboard

We just want to be together

Don’t they know we want to be together,
For more than ninety days,
Can’t they get it through their heads,
Forever and one day

No, you cannot stay,
You’ve got to go away,
Yes, you can come again,
In another ninety days

This is just insupportable,
To be separated like this,
When I just want to hold you,
Always in eternal bliss

To be at their total mercy,
Our future in their hands,
Don’t do it just as they say,
And you’ll end up getting banned

Still I will persist,
To fight until nothing’s left,
To find a way to stay with you,
Until my dying breath
