The rape of the earth

earth

The Earth

The rape of the earth
Has continued too long
Charging headlong
Towards its final death song

How many ways
Can we possibly find
To destroy our planet
And nature’s purpose undermine

Open cast mining
And deforestation
These affronts to Gaia
And the whole of creation

A world polluted
Rain turned to acid
Leaves vegetation and life
Limp and flaccid

Over Fishing
And Herman’s stunt
African safaris
And the big game hunt

The continual abuse
Of our eternal mother
Leads us onward
Closer to the fall

Plunging on headlong
Towards oblivion
All for the worth
Of her natural resources

A Work of Art

A Work of Art

Watching you lay there
Oh beauty so fair
A vision so pure
A grace so rare

The body of Venus
Aphrodite combined
Intellect and humour
A mind so refined

A love eternal
A soul so pure
Ever lasting
Our love will endure

My one true love
My ever after
You fill my heart
With joy and laughter

One final word
From deep in the heart
Always together
A work of art

The One Legged Goose

The One Legged Goose

A one legged goose
With his love by his side
Gliding along
A smooth looking ride
Underneath
All hell breaks loose
The thrashing foot of the one legged goose

Knights of Old

knights

Knights of Old

In days of yore
Of damsels and maids
Of women most fair
When battle was made

A mighty steed
A rampant charger
Dazzling armour
A knight sat proud

A lance in his hand
Spurs on his feet
He threw down the gauntlet
Cast his gage

Of rage and fury
On battlefield bleak
Judge and jury
And justice did reek

Gods will be done
Trial by combat
A test of arms
Running the lists

A lance in his hand
An axe, A sword
Maybe a mace
The weapons of a lord

Shield bedecked
With scarlet eagle
A griffin rearing
The three lion device

The sanctity of arms
The benediction of might
The blessing of arms
The glory of battle

The power of might
The right of power
Razing villages to the ground
E’en the flower filled bower

Men without charms
To the slaughter like cattle
Serfs and peasants
Mere cannon fodder

A time of majesty
They’d have us believe
But the reality was
Worse than we can conceive

Three quarks for Muster Mark

‘Three quarks for Muster Mark’,
They say,
But I found six,
One fortuitous day,
Full of charm,
And a little strange,
With infinite beauty,
That’s the truth
Up and down
I searched the dark
And found at last
The ubiquitous Quark

Bound by colours,
Red, blue and green
In combination colourless,
Never to be seen
From top to bottom,
I had searched,
My perspective then,
Suddenly lurched
And folded up,
Into eight different ways
Thus ending my search,
After many days.

Incomparable Reward

That look on their face,
When they understand,
Can bring tears to the eyes
Of a full grown man.

They fill our lives,
With unsurpassable joy
The pleasure they get,
From that favourite toy.

The trusting looks,
Unconditional love,
The unbelievable power,
Of their incredible hugs.

We nurture and guide,
Love and cherish,
But who really inspires,
Them or us

They are beautiful.
Amazing, and brilliant.
Unbelievable, incredible
Limitless superlatives

Everything they do,
Makes me the proudest man alive
An incomparable reward
There could be none greater.

Pride

So proud to be yours,
For all of my life,
Through trouble and strife,
To call you my wife.

So proud of you,
Your talent and skill,
My heart you fill,
My soul you thrill

So proud of us,
The perfect pair,
Always there,
Our life to share.

For the most beautiful woman in the universe. Ionia. My one true love.

A Vision of Beauty

Watching you there,
Oh beauty so fair.
A vision so pure,
A grace so rare.

The body of Venus,
Aphrodite combined.

A mind so refined.

A love eternal,
A soul so pure.
Everlasting.
Our love will endure.

My one true love,
My forever after.
You fill my heart,
With joy and laughter.

One final word,
From deep in my heart.
Always together,
A work of art.

I love you, Ionia.
