So, here we are at the end. The end you say? The end of this weeks featured poems from, ‘A Poetic Proposal’, my collection of poetry dedicated to Ionia. Finally, I hear some of you gasp. Finally the end of reading poems that we have all seen on this blog before. Well of course. Did you think I was going to include those special ones that haven’t appeared here? Of course you didn’t. Those are reserved for readers of the book. Still, I hope that you have enjoyed the poems that have appeared here this week. Remember there are more of the same, and even some that haven’t appeared on the blog, in the book.
This poem appeared previously on the blog not so long ago in July 2014. As a bonus for your patience in reading these posts I have prepared a reading of this poem, one of my very favourites, for you.
You are my Heaven
Lost,
Consigned to hell,
Then free,
To find my heaven
Now,
In purgatory,
Soon free,
Inside my heaven
You freed me from hell, and became my heaven
Whilst purgatory keeps me, from being with you
When I escape this rock of our pain,
I shall join you, my love,
Together again
You are my heaven,
My heart, my soul,
Only together,
Shall we be whole.
The book is available here and comes in both digital and paperback format. Stocking fillers! Don’t forget.
As I said yesterday, as part of the release of ‘A Poetic Proposal’ I am going to be featuring a poem from the book, dedicated to Ionia, each day this week as a taster of the delights you can experience inside.
This one is another personal favourite, although I guess they pretty much all are. This one has also been featured previously on the blog, along with audio, which I shall include here again.
On Gossamer Wings
On gossamer wings,
On gossamer wings,
My heart it flies to you.
To be together,
‘till the end of days
Is all that’s left to do.
Flying high,
‘cross the ocean blue,
To where it now belongs.
Cradled within,
A soul so true,
Amidst angelic song.
And soon now,
Oh, so very soon,
The body will be along.
To join the heart,
To fill the void,
Back where I belong.

When I say your name,
And look upon your face,
That smile upon your lips,
Replete with heavenly grace
When I say your name,
A spark lights up your eyes,
My heart it soars so high,
It reaches to the skies
When I say your name,
And a glow envelops you
I can feel your love,
So deep, so pure, so true
When I say your name,
I’m filled with butterflies,
The greatest feeling ever,
No need to wonder why
When I say your name,
I add three perfect words,
I gaze into your eyes,
And say, ‘I love you, Ionia’
The book is available here and comes in both digital and paperback format. The paperbacks make handy stocking fillers for loved ones at Christmas I am told.
I have an indomitable faith that the ocean between us will soon disappear, one way or another. I know from the very bottom of my heart, from every atom in my body, that my soul shall be reunited with yours, its other half, and shall remain as one for all eternity. Nothing will ever stop me coming for you, Ionia.
Forever together
Always our desire,
I just need
To come
Home to you.
Wishing and hoping
Every day,
When will
I be
Living life with my
Love
God I am so
Excited,
To be coming home
To you
Heaven sent you
Ever for me,
Really together for
Eternity
Following on from my poem, ‘When You Say My Name‘, I thought I would say the name, the name of my one true love, Ionia. I thought that I would actually say it though.
When I say your name
When I say your name,
And look upon your face,
That smile upon your lips,
Replete with heavenly grace
When I say your name,
A spark lights up your eyes,
My heart it soars so high,
It reaches to the skies

I can feel your love,
So deep, so pure, so true
When I say your name,

The greatest feeling ever,
No need to wonder why

And say, ‘I love you, Ionia’
And now the moment you have all been waiting for. The end of the cycle. Seriously though, I hope that some of you made it to this point. This is my favourite poem of the cycle as when this poem is in ascendance it means I am with the love of my life, Ionia. That is all I want, always and forever.
And Now the World it Spins Again
And now the world it spins again
But only for a while
And then we shall begin again
To endure our difficult trial
For now though, all is perfect
Back here in your arms
To look upon your pretty face
And all your heavenly charms
Even though the real world
Rears its ugly head
Every moment spent with you
Fills my heart with joy
Someday will eventually come
And we shall be together
Sharing this one life of ours
Always and forever.
I promise that I will try and do a few different posts now, although I may well mingle in a few more poetry readings. I have enjoyed this a lot.
And here is part 3 of the spinning world cycle. Now I know for sure that some of you have dropped away. Where is your stamina? This is an endurance test.
